About

My Story

unnamed (15).jpg
My roots run deep in Saskatchewan with both of my parents born and raised in Saskatchewan, as was my husband, myself, and my children. I love walking, (even in the winter when it’s minus -30), reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, gardening, and listening to jazz. I am very humbled and honoured to have won the Crime Writers of Canada award for Best Crime Novel set in Canada for 2023, and to have been shortlisted for the Saskatchewan Book Awards for 2023.

The truth is worse than anyone could imagine: an entire family slaughtered in their home nearby, even
the children. The small rural community reels in the aftermath. For Liz, these events complicate her already tiring life. Keeping Rose in line feels like a full-time job, and if Rose gets it in her head that she can solve a murder….

For all her life, Ruby has been sheltered from the real world. First, a prisoner in her father’s house, her dad afraid someone would marry her for his money, then cooped up in her husband’s house, no outside job, no real-world experience. Now her dad is dead, and instead of Ruby inheriting his money, he’s left it to his young wife of three years, leaving Ruby only a decrepit cabin at a lake in the northern part of the province.
